Our house is called Ygeia, or Hygieia, after the Greek Goddess of Health. Maybe that’s why we feel so good there !


We fell in love with this house in 2009 and come as often as possible. We've done all the work ourselves, except for major constructions such as the pool. (Which is why it's taking so long too!)
We decided to rent it out as a gite to help cover costs but also to share this amazing place with others.
We hope you will have a great time and enjoy the property as we do !!

We are happy to greet you in our home, to share with you this charming traditional French country house. We’ve kept the old fashioned charm and added the comfort of modern fixtures.
We are sure you will love the house as we do, whether outside on the exceptional river terrace, the lush green garden or inside in the cozy, quaint and comfortable rooms..

Flaujagues is 15 kms from St Emilion, the famous medievel village and vineyards, and a designated UNESCO world heritage site.
Flaujagues is 50 km from Bordeaux, and about an hour and a half from the Atlantic coast and the Bassin d’Arcachon, famous for its beaches and oysters and the Medoc region, famous for its excellent wines.
Flaujagues lies in the Entre-deux-Mers, renowned for its wines and wineyards,  fabulous medieval villages, and multitude of hiking trails. There are 4 golf courses nearby .

The south west is a gourmet region of France, the restaurants range from the Hostellerie de Plaisance in St Emilion with its starred chef to La Puce, a restaurant for the local vineyard workers. An amazing diversity of tastes, from a side a beef to la Lamproie (a local fish), from pigeon to oysters from Arguin. The choice is yours and we will be pleased to point you in the right direction.

We are located between two Intl. airports : Bergerac connected to England with Ryanair (40 km ) and Bordeaux Merignac (50Km).

Description for Gite

La chambre "Rouge" exposée plein Est est la plus spacieuse. Ses trois fenêtres ouvrent directement sur la Dordogne. Le lit "queen size" est très confortable, la salle de bain est "en suite".
La chambre "Bleue" Ouvre sur l'Est et le Sud est la plus petite 25 m² environ Ses deux fenêtres ouvrent directement sur la courbe de la Dordogne et sur le parc du château de Flaujagues. Le lit "Double" est très confortable, la salle de bain est "en suite".
La chambre "Jaune" exposée plein sud est aussi très spacieuse. Sa fenêtre donne sur le parc et sur la courbe de la Dordogne. Le double lit "King size" est adaptable en twin ou double, la salle de bain est "en suite".

Face à vous, la Dordogne offre ici un paysage toujours changeant et une rive boisée, sans construction, route ni maison! Seuls les cygnes, hérons, aigrettes, martins pêcheurs et hirondelles pourraient gâcher votre quiétude
