Description for B&B:
The Domaine de Blacons is an authentic family house blending simplicity and elegance, and where time seems to stand still. We want to preserve a property that has been in the family for several generations. We also want to share our attachment to this magnificent region of the Drome Valley, which is why we've continued an adventure begun by our parents almost 40 years ago.
Situated in the heart of the Drome Valley between the Vercors and Provence, this 17th century home, typical of the region, is made up of two main buildings perched on sloping ground. We warmly welcome the guest who come to stay and make them feel right at home, any time of the year, in a natural environment blending comfort with elegance. With three-hectare gardens all around in which you can hear the crickets chirping, it's the perfect spot to get away from everything in perfectly natural surroundings. With environmental awareness always in mind, ecological materials were used when renovations were carried out between 2010 and 2013. Attentive to the wishes of our guests, we want you to lack nothing and will do all we can to share our own experience of what's so special in this area.
The domaine is also the perfect starting point for discovering the Drome, a magnificent area ideal for nature lovers and with many open air activities on offer. Many watersports are available along the River Drome or in the Roanne valley. There's paragliding, horse riding, mountain biking, and many great nature trails. Walkers and climbers love the sloping forest of Saou nearby. The village of Mirabel-et-Blacons is itself one of the entry points of the Regional Natural Park of the Vercors and the Valley of Gervanne. Fresh waterfalls, beautiful cliffs and green countryside abound. Here, the biodiversity is particularly rich, thanks to an excellent climate and pure agricultural methods. The first department to be designated 'Bio de France', the Drome has many superb markets where you can discover and taste great products. History lovers have the chance to make a Michelin-recognised excursion to the medieval tower of Crest and many villages perched in the mountains, where artists and artisans produce a wide range of creations.
